Women of the Bible: From Abigail to the Queen of Sheba (1985)
Book restoration can take surprising forms. A friend handed me a bag of fragments of an 18th Century illustrated book, which had been both burnt and water-logged in a house fire, and said: “Here, you’ll like this.” I did. I restored the lives of these women, painting-in where necessary, and wrote their stories on the pop-out accordions. Enough of the title page remained for me to date the book and to maintain its original title.
