Twelve Egyptian Chairs (1995)

I found this book at one of the bouquinistes of Paris. I was charmed by its stamped cloth cover. When I saw the Egyptian collection at the Louvre, I decided to pay homage to both discoveries in one object.

Letterpress-printed black and white pages, alternating with painted versions of the same black and white pages. 

Rounded stub binding with double sewing; quarter cloth and painted paper sides with gold-stamped inset label; gouache and gold-stamping on the pages; in a clamshell box.
