The earth is blue like an orange (2011)

Inspired by Paul Éluard’s surrealistic poem of the same title, my earth is split into quadrants.

Bound with bamboo skewers, the painted panels move independently, creating a changing view of earth as the panels are flipped.

Gouache on handmade paper; covers, goatskin over shaped boards; in a clamshell box.
