I received this book when I was 10. I remember my surprise that handwriting could form the text. This book gave me permission to use handwriting in my own books. It also seeded my love for other people’s handwriting, as found on parchment documents, postcards, letters. And, oh, those gold borders! They will become a feature in my books as well.
