Block Prints (2020)
“Papiers dominotés” are block-printed and stenciled papers, popularly used as book and box coverings in the 18th Century. Several years ago I discovered the Parisian studio “Antoinette Poisson,” where domino papers are faithfully, and gorgeously, reproduced on authentic linen paper.
Back in my studio, using the pochoir process, I made a drawing, converted it into a polymer plate, and printed an edition of black-and-white block prints. I cut stencils and painted a series of 23 prints, no two alike.
